Traditional Use in TCM
Traditionally used for "exterior-interior excess" patterns: simultaneous chills and high fever with constipation, dark scanty urine, red eyes, sore throat, or skin eruptions — classically summarized as wind-heat constrained at the exterior while heat accumulates internally. In modern TCM practice it is also traditionally associated with patterns of internal clumping of heat in individuals of robust constitution.
Nong's Fang Feng Tong Sheng San (Siler & Platycodon Formula) 5:1 Concentrated Granules is a classic traditional Chinese medicine formula made from a proprietary blend of Chinese herbs including Cassia twig, Chinese licorice root, Chinese peony root, Chinese rhubarb root, Gardenia fruit, Siler root, Forsythia fruit, Platycodon root, Mirabilite, Dong Quai root, Bai-Zhu Atractylodes rhizome and Sichuan lovage rhizome, prepared in accordance with quality practices aligned with FDA guidelines. This concentrated extract is traditionally used to help release the exterior and drain interior heat according to TCM principles.
Who This Formula Is Traditionally NOT For
Not traditionally used during pregnancy, for weak or elderly individuals, or for those with loose stools and cold patterns. This is a strong, draining formula intended for robust constitutions.
