Ma Huang Fu Zi Xi Xin Tang — Ephedra, Aconite & Asarum Decoction

Recorded in the Han-dynasty Shang Han Lun, this formula addresses the unusual combination of an exterior cold invasion occurring in someone whose underlying constitution is already yang-deficient.

Classical Formula Composition

• Ma Huang (Herba Ephedrae) — releases the exterior
• Fu Zi (processed Radix Aconiti) — warms and supports yang from within
• Xi Xin (Herba Asari) — assists in dispersing exterior cold while supporting interior yang

Traditional Use in TCM
