      About This Formula

      Ding Xiang — Clove

Ding Xiang is the aromatic flower bud of Syzygium aromaticum, a classical interior-warming herb traditionally used to warm the middle and descend rebellious qi.

In TCM, Ding Xiang is used to warm the middle, descend rebellious qi and warm the kidneys and stomach. It is classically indicated for cold-stomach vomiting, hiccough, epigastric cold pain, and cold patterns of the lower abdomen. Classically combined with Shi Di for stubborn hiccough and with Rou Gui for cold pain in the abdomen and lower back; its warm, aromatic nature is traditionally used for cold-stomach vomiting that worsens after cold drinks.

      Suggested Use

Single-herb granules can be taken alone or combined with other single herbs into a custom formula, as TCM practitioners typically prescribe.
