Traditional Use in TCM
Traditionally used for excess fire and damp-heat of the liver and gallbladder — classically described as hypochondriac pain, bitter taste, tinnitus, red and swollen eyes, irritability, and damp-heat of the genitals or lower urinary tract.
Who This Formula Is Traditionally NOT For
Not traditionally matched to liver-kidney yin deficiency without excess fire, or to cold patterns with weak digestion. The formula is cold and strongly draining, so it is not for prolonged use without medical guidance.
