Traditional Use in TCM
Traditionally used for the cold–heat complex of the viscera — classically described as roundworm syncope with cold limbs and sweating, and chronic diarrhea with alternating cold and heat; it warms the viscera while draining heat and calming roundworms.
Who This Formula Is Traditionally NOT For
Not traditionally matched to acute yang collapse, to those without a confirmed cold–heat pattern, or to acute abdominal emergencies such as intestinal obstruction. Persistent or severe abdominal symptoms warrant immediate medical evaluation.
