From Zheng Meijian's Chong Lou Yu Yao (Jade Key of the Mansion of Layers, Qing dynasty), Yang Yin Qing Fei Tang is the classical formula for lung yin deficiency with internal heat.
Classical Formula Composition

Sheng Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae) 6 g, Xuan Shen (Radix Scrophulariae) 4.5 g, Mai Dong (Radix Ophiopogonis) 3.6 g — nourish the yin and clear the lung

Bai Shao (Radix Paeoniae Alba) 2.4 g, Mu Dan Pi (Cortex Moutan) 2.4 g — cool the blood and soften the liver

Zhe Bei Mu (Bulbus Fritillariae Thunbergii) 2.4 g — resolve phlegm-heat and scatter nodules

Bo He (Herba Menthae) 1.5 g, Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae) 1.5 g — clear the throat and harmonize the formula

Traditional Use in TCM
Traditionally used for lung yin deficiency with internal heat — classically described as a dry, sore and swollen throat, cough with scanty phlegm, and dryness of the mouth and nose.
Who This Formula Is Traditionally NOT For
Not traditionally matched to exterior wind-cold, or to profuse white phlegm with yang deficiency. Persistent or severe throat symptoms warrant medical evaluation.
