Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang — Tonifying the Middle, Raising the Qi
Created by the master physician Li Dongyuan (Pi Wei Lun, Treatise on the Spleen and Stomach, c. 1249 AD), Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang is the classical formula for lifting sinking qi and rebuilding digestive strength.
Traditionally used for spleen qi deficiency with sinking of the middle qi — classically described as persistent fatigue worse after exertion, poor appetite, a bearing-down or sagging sensation, spontaneous sweating, and a weak voice. It is also the classical representative for "qi deficiency fever" (low-grade warmth that worsens with exhaustion).
Its classical actions are to tonify the middle, augment qi and lift sunken yang.
